Terms. Plainly written.
A short, plain-English version of the agreement that governs your use of JoinBeUs. Full legal text is at the end.
Who we are
JoinBeUs Lda, a company registered in Portugal. We make a language-learning product. These terms govern your use of it.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login secure. Don't share it. If you suspect it has been compromised, tell us at security@joinbeus.com and we will help you secure it.
What we promise
To run the service to the best of our ability. To not lose your data. To be honest about outages, bugs, and roadmap.
What you promise
To not abuse the service — no scraping, no automated mass-account creation, no using the dialogues outside JoinBeUs without permission. The dialogue audio and text are JoinBeUs content, licensed to you for personal learning only; please do not copy, extract, or redistribute them.
Money
JoinBeUs offers optional paid subscriptions (such as monthly or yearly Premium). The price is always shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period — you can manage or cancel anytime in your app store account settings. Payment is charged through your app store account or the payment provider shown at checkout. Institutions are billed per seat under their separate agreement.
If we mess up
If the service is broken for an extended period, we will refund or extend your subscription. We are not liable for indirect damages — but we will always try to do right by you.
Ending the relationship
You can close your account any time, from settings. We will delete your data within 30 days. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service; you will be told why and given a chance to respond.
Where this lives
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes go to the courts of Lisbon, unless you are a consumer in another EU country, in which case your local consumer-protection rights apply.
